What use an extended warranty?

After a terrible 6 weeks of driving with the car shaking, 6 visits to two separate main dealers, and no progress, I'm wondering what use my extended warranty is when a)the dealer can't find the fault and b) doesn't know where to begin to fix it when you have demostrated it to them because their computer can't find the fault.
If I had any hair to spare I would be pulling it out.
The dream of Scooby ownership is turning more sour than a mouthful of lemons.
I just want my pride and joy restoring to it's former glory. Is that too much to ask?

Have they done a test drive?
I took mine to the dealer when my gearbox was crunching intermittently into 3rd gear - 1 month before 5yr extended warranty was up.
Technician came out with me, I demonstrated then he drove, agreed with me and next week car in, brand new Legacy courtesy car for 2 days, and gearbox completely rebuilt at a cost of £1300 (paid by Subaru Warranty Services
)
Sounds like you're using the wrong dealer.

Take it to another dealer - keep on until you get one that sorts the problem, shouldn't be necessary but go for it. Failing that contact Subaru UK and make them aware, manufacturers are usually keen to keep the customer happy with geninune issues.
