Mods - please leave here for a while as I need a quick response - cheers!
I've ordered a set of 18" OZ Superlegs to fit my UK MY00 Classic and have just had a call to say they no longer make the 7.5x18 wheel.
What they've offered me instead is 8x18 with an offset of ET51, still with 215/35 x 18 tyres.
What I need to know urgently is if these will definitely fit straight on my car without any modifications???
I would normally search through the Wheels, Tyres & Brakes forum but the search facility appears not to be working.
All advice/help gratefully received
Thanks,
Steve

Wurzel - that's just what they offered me as a replacement cos I ordered 215/35 tyres on 7.5x18 wheels. I thought they'd have suggested 225/35 to go on 8x18??

I have 18 x 8 Speedline Turinis on my scoob - MY 99, with 215/35/18 Toyos. The tyres are too small for the rims and this causes me some serious tramlining problems. I'm going to change to 225/35/18 or possibly 225/40/18 as I know some are happily running these tyres. The Toyos were supplied with the wheels - I should have done a little more research on tyre size before ordering but the supplier never mentioned any potential problems with the 215s. All IMHO of course...
If I could turn back the clock I would go for 17" wheels!
Cheers

Greg,
Thanks for responding - would you happen to know what the offset is on your wheels?
Do you have any problems with the tyres rubbing the arches or struts at all?
When you say you would go for 17's is that because of the problems you have had with the 215's or because you think the car would be generally better on 17's?
Thanks,
Steve

I have the very wheels you mention with 225/35/18's & they do fit, but had to roll my rear arches to stop the rubbing when cornering, with 215's you shouldn't have the problem.
