Subaru Extended Warranty, Extra 6th Year!

Subaru Extended Warranty, Extra 6th Year!
My 5 year extended Subaru warranty is about to expire. Thus far it's been some of the best money i've ever spent. I've had a few things done and easily got my money back. The offer is £405 for an extra year with unlimited mileage. Sounds quite pricey but still well worth it for the peace of mind. I guess the only issue is I still need to keep it serviced etc (at a main dealer) for the year, but thats no big worry. It doesn't cover non-standard parts (so my modding plans might be limited), but with the PPP it's not sooo bad already.
What does everybody think? Worth the money?
Cheers

Depends on the car and how you drive it. My 22B is getting some suspension work done under warranty and is 2 months away from it's 5th year warranty expiring, the work would have cost more than the 2 year extension I bought. Considering most main dealers have slashed the cost of servicing 'classics' I don't consider being 'tied' to main dealer servicing a burden. As I intend to keep the car forever, and intend to drive it like it was meant to be driven I'd take advantage of another years warranty.

22B Hmmmmmm[drool mode firmly on]
I driver mine gently most of the time but feel sure "she" appreciates a good thrashing from time to time. I know I enjoy it!
I concur, as a safety net for the unseen turbo/clutch/aircon/whatever its better to pay £400 than £1,000!
Plus re-sale value much higher? I think it might be for the peace of mind to the new owner!

My MY99 will be 5 years old this March. Extened warranty runs out in September, but I'll be tempted to renew again.
I've renewed the extended warranty twice and have made full use of it ... including the breakdown! I've had various stuff replaced over the last 2.5 years and I'm sure saved a small fortune in labour rates.
IMHO.... If you're planning on modding the car in a big way, or only use the car at weekends, then the extended warranty is probably not the best thing to do with £405.

Mods planned were not major, or essential (might just do a bit more to the zorst, but then they have lifetime guarantee's anyway) and she's a daily driver so it sounds tempting for the peace of mind.

I guess if you have kept up the servicing and have a current extended warranty then yes (anyone can have it). Otherwise no. If the warranty lapsed at all even for 1 day I think you can't go back and have it.
Or maybe its just me and i'm just plain lucky

You can get a warranty as long as it has done less than 100k and passes a so many point check, like a pre delivery or a mini Mot.It's @ £350 for a year and includes Mondial Roadside Assistance.Well worth it if a cambelt, diff, gearbox etc goes wrong.

Since I extended my warranty into year 6, to keep the service schedule up, the last one was done again at main dealer - must be the last stamp in the book, it's had that many main dealer services!
Anyway, as i'd had all the fluids etc done at last service (£200) 6 months before, and had just upgraded brakes, all I needed was an oil change, check of all fluids etc, and general checkover of car. As the dealers know me, and I got an oil filter from them, but told them I was doing my own change with Castrol RS 10w60, they said OK, and did the check over, rustproofed the underside too, and charged me the princely sum of £30 inc.!!!! And stamped the book.
Servicing for Scoobies just isn't that expensive.
Money well spent for the warranty I think - piece of mind, added value to car if you sell, the breakdown cover is worth £100+, and it could potentially save you thousands.

Extended warranty
99PPP,
I did not renew my 6th year warranty, offered at about £350. Reason was the AA offered additional breakdown insurance (£52/year) on top of my usual cover which allowed me to claim 3 x £500 in the year for any fault that involved the use of my nearest Scooby dealer for repair to the car. Everything was covered that was covered in the Scooby warranty. This is an ongoing thing so the future looks rosy )
