Its 320 Ps?/ brakeHP - the PPP STi is 305 I think
Its a very pretty shade of blue
AND has a very nice SS mesh grill
I hope it hasn't got pink plastic badges
Otherwise basically yes ???
Cheers Neil

Is the wr1 just an sti with a ppp??
and is it worth the £30k asking price
However, in ultimate performance terms, it's still not quite on par with some of the Japanese market imports, which can also be had for less than £30K. At end of day it's up to you to weigh the options.

I have got my name down for one, but I probably won't be able to let you know if it is worth it before August - I am No 3 on our local dealers list - lots of sleepless nights before then me thinks !
By the way does anyone know the difference between BHP and PS ?

Although reliably informed that it's unlikely to have the 13:1 rack, as it makes it too twitchy, it does have have special 320 PPP, the 18s, the springs, etc etc.
I added up the extras at retail prices, and just the ones listed above bring the price up to over £29,100, so £900 for the cosmetic stuff and a DCCD-a, amkes in extremely good value for money in my book.
However, as I've also ordered one, I might be a tad biased.

what deal did you get to put your name down ?
I spoke to 1 dealer who wanted a £1000 non refundable deposit and another who wanted a £500 refundable one - I bet you can't guess which one i went for.
I would have been 2nd on the more expensive list rather than 3rd though.
I heard that all the 80 subaru dealerships in the UK will get 3 WR1's between april and august, the rest will be used as perks etc
cheers Neil
PS has it got the 13:1 rack or not ???

Only ever been to Leicester & Nottingham dealers can any body recomend other dealers in the midlands area.

Just looked at the Subaru website. States that 'it will offer a power upgrade to 320 PS'. I guess that means 265 PS for your £30000 and another £2000 for 320 PS. I'm definitely not interested now.

No, the WR1 comes with the PPP installed as standard equipment. All of them will have 320ps for the £30K price tag, you don't have to spend extra to get it.

Neil,
Dealer I'm getting mine from only wants £250, and I haven't even remembered to send that off yet!
6 Pot,
I believe there are also dealers in the Derby and Warwick area that seem to have reasonable reputations, although I'm afraid I don't know any well enough in that area to recommend one.

I believe the way the allocation will work is as follows.
One car will be delivered to every dealer in(around) April.
Once every dealer has got one, then the second car will be delivered to every dealer.
Once the second car has been delivered then the third car will be delivered to every dealer.
After that the dealers who have been given extra cars will get theirs on a rotation basis(I.e 4th car delivered to qualifying dealers, then 5th etc etc)
After that it's down to the regional manager who gets the extra cars.
It's estimated these 'extra' cars will be delivered July/August time.

DJB,
As Greasemonkey says, that is certainly NOT the case. What they mean is that it will offer a power upgrade over other cars in the range. The WR1 comes with 320 as standard, it's NOT an option. That's one of the reasons I think it's good value.
It comes complete with all the best 'options', which would bring the price up to the £29,100+, the PPP will bring it up to 320 (which I understand is more than the 04 STi PPP) AND it has the DCCD-A together with the cosmetic stuff.
I think everyone's learnt their lessons from the extra 500 P1s, so I suspect they'll have no problems selling these to the enthusiast.

WR1's Spotted
I spotted 2 full transporters of WR1's on the M1 southbound yesterday? I saw them at 1:45 around j25 -j24. Very nice Scoob when you see it up close IMO. Those of you with one on order won't be disappointed.
DJ.
Edited cos I can't spell.

I don't think that there will be any discount on the WR1, dealers are falling over themselves trying to get more than the 3 they have all been allocated. I am getting mine from Constitution Motors in Norwich which are a new franchise to Subaru and I think they may have 1 of their 3 left if anyone is interested.

we got 11 of them to sell!!! only sold 1 so far and our md is pushing for another 4 and hopefully if it all works out right with every one of ours sold solberg will autograph the service book and there will be a tour of prodrive thrown in as well how many other dealers are offering that then
