How can I check if its been re-mapped????
After Having an STi engine fitted into MY99 WRX I also paid to have the ECU re-mapped...
...However it seem to drive exactly the same
I was originally told I could probanly get away with a Tec 1 re-map which wouldn't give any more power but would make the car safer (ie no DET).
However I was then told that it had needed a full Re-map as it had previously been mapped with a RA map, which would make it run too lean hence the DET & Blown engines...
So they have now told me it has a P1 Map.
Is there anyway I can check or am I getting spoon fed BULL SH*T?

Difficult to say. The obvious thing would be the different boost levels between maps. Are you getting a higher / lower boost reading since the remap (assuming you have a boost guage). If you have a AFR guage is is now reading richer on WOT?
