Smile Vids: Scoob vs Fiat Coupe Turbo + Ferrari 355 vs 355 @ Santa Pod

I went to Santa Pod for the 1st time a couple of weeks ago and it was interesting to see how figures translate in real life with real drivers.

There were to new M3 convs (very nice indeedy), one standard (it ran into 16s for 1/4mile) and the other Scnitzer modded (exhaust/ecu) which ran 14.2secs.

I ran against a modded Fiat Coupe 20v Turbo LE (280bhp 290/300lbs torque) after some rivalry on the forums (some may remember the lenghty and amusing Scoob v Coupe thread). Heres the result (my first go ever!):

http://homepage.ntlworld.com/paul-ba...od/damn4wd.wmv

There was also a modded Ferrari 360 Modena (exhaust ecu ....) which ran 13.3 or 13.4.

Previously two Ferrari 355 going at it together (one gets 13.9 and the other 14.2):

I ran 13.4secs best and 13.8 and 13.6 worst. (My mods just a exhaust and map on a M99 UK turbo)

Nice to know you can embarass exotica

Enjoy the vids.

Bob

(thanks to Paul Baker for vids)

few seconds longer that coupe would have been passing you , if it had 280 bhp with no transmission losses your lucky you was not on the open road with it, but saying that, you pasted it where you needed to, nice one

no the coupe is far more aerodynamic at high speeds, which allows it its top speed of 155 mph with just 220 bhp, if the one you raced had the power output you said, im sure it would be different on an open road, and it looked wet.

Firstly santa pod don't run if its wet. Yes traction was **** for everyone...me included. Not even the driver of the coupe would be naive enough to say that if the conditions were excellent he would have stood a chance...the fastest coupe in the uk is a snip under 13.8 (as far as I'm aware)...I would hope to hit 13secs flat to 13.1 in good conditions.

Secondly we also went for a blast on the open road and the coupe looked like it more or less matched me, so all respect due for the coupe for that.

Bob

PS. This is not a vs debate as this is been done to death already, and besides videos speak volumes! Is this 'iwanacoupe' from fiat coupe forum?
