Default first launch 0-60 crudely measured times please

have a sti 6 and got a friend to time me.although crude we managed a time of 4.56secs on first attempt. wouln't recommend to many attempts as first time i've smelt clutch, but having a camera placed to time more accurately and get it on film before i retire from drag launches.
anyone else childish enough to have a go?

i suppose you can take the footage, then while watching the film back use a stopwatch to get a more accurate time? but there was a thread on a while back that had a guy using a camcorder of his 0-60 time and on his footage he had the clock superimposed on the screen. anyhow when i get my footage i'll try to post it on here

Had a go with a G meter at the weekend. Measures acceleration and therefore 0-60 and 1/4 mile. Got 4.48sec and 13.12 for 1/4@100mph. Get an AP clutch and you can launch all day

What a rare wit you have jjones. Shame that the jokes wearing a bit thin- must be almost the 1283rd time you've given a reply like this to someones thread. If you haven't got anything constructive to say why bother?

BTW my launch time 0-60 was about 5.4 secs being kindish to the clutch- just below 3K then progressive feeding out clutch.

i think it's ****ing laughable that people are measuring their 0-60 times using their speedometer and a stopwatch and then quoting times to two decimal places.

you do have a point but surely no need for that kind of attitude? I measured mine using GPS and road markings/stopwatch.

Was using a G meter as stated- no human interference other than levelling setup.

mr jjjones the thread explained that this is a crude and so called fun diversion into a 0-60 launch. if the watch is stopped at 4.56 secs do u want me to round up to 5 secs, which i can gladly do to avoid us of the billy connoly wit you so easily demonstrate.
when i post a thread at the moscow physics convention in july with the same data i would gladly read your reply, until then take yourself back to the my other cars a ferrari forum

Well I got a 98 WRX Sti Type R with decat and K&N panel filter and managed a 5.10 sec 0 -60 on an AP 22 that my mate loaned me. 210ft and pulled about .98g at 24MPH
