Why Has The "Check Engine" Light Started Flashing ?
I have just jumped my car off with leads as it had a flat battery (battery maybe be on its way out - car was only stood for two weeks)
The "Check Engine" light is now flashing away all the time now. Its never done this before - does anyone know what might be wrong
Many Thanks
Matt

I'm not an expert but i'd guess that if you've let the battery run flat then the ECU will have reset. An ECU reset often shows problems up as the engine re-learns it's optimum settings. Things like a gradually failing MAF sensor or lambda sensor can show up after an ECU reset (did on mine!).
Best bet is to get it hooked up to a select monitor at your local dealership asap, or have a look here:

I have got the same probblem with mine ever since i have bought it on my dash when i start it up it ok but after it gets to normal running temp the light (CHECK ENGINE) starts to flash all the time but on my car if i turn my ignition on my fan starts to come on and then off, on off, on off could this be the fault because i have been told it is supose to do that on subaru impreza's mine a 1995 version 2 import WRX dose any one have any ideas.

- I'd check that you haven't got your ECU reset connectors connected together. After an ECU reset, once the car has warmed up it will indicate the all clear by flashing the CEL.
- As above, also check that you don't have the diagnostics connectors connected together, I'm not totally sure whether you can drive the car with them together or not, but when you turn the ignition on the fans will go on and off and on and off ... and many of the solenoids will click away like a good-un.
The ECU reset and diagnostic plugs can be found up under the steering column, the rest plugs are 2 black plugs and the diagnostic plugs are 2 green plugs, they should not be connected during normal use.
