A TD05 modified for Front Entry is generally considered a good step up from the standard TD04 in the MY00.

With that, a new fuel pump and regulator and a custom remap on your existing ecutek license and you'll be up to 340hp nicely, i went in one the other day, VERY quick

Fuel Pump and Regulator - £220
FE TD05 - various prices but speak to ANDY F - £600 i believe with full warranty
remap depends on where you go and fitting the same!

I'm no techy but I asked around and thats what seemed best, so thats currently my shopping list for the summer anyway!!!

You will probably also need an uprated oil pump, but i decided with my MY00 that you could only go so far, so i bought a new and even more improved Scoob instead

Yeah Tony has a point, 340 is probably as far as you'd want to go with a UK turbo without starting to spend silly money in which case you'd be better of starting at a better platform!

But power isnt everything, spending money on handling both for the car and your driving skills will improve things greatly, a decent set of tyres and geometry setup also. But if its straight line grunt you're after then you need power and that costs a lot! and remember you need to stop too!

I reckon save your pennies and get something more powerful, but first drive a more powerful car, you may find the impreza doesnt feel as nice as you'd though. My personal opinion is if I want serious power to go away from impreza all together, does well in the 300-400 category but over that you're really pushing it IMHO (flame suit activated).

Besides i only bought mine to get it "out of my system" before growing up and buying a house, my budget wont swing to a house and a nice car like some people on here

yer i guess,

But apart from a 01n sti at around 260 and starting to upgrade wont realy be worth it, i am nearly happy, anothe 50 to 70 bhp and 280 torq would do it for me,

I have a house and all that but also cant afford to lay out 1000 on fmic, i have to look at the sti6 tmic , comprise, i dont like it , but its real life

Perhaps best route would be a STI 5 or 6 then low weight, starts off on decent power and has the big turbo already! I dont think i'd consider an 01!
