Default Flat battery after 8 days.

I have just come home from a weeks holiday and the battery on my 03 WRX was flat. Had to get Subaru Assist out to jump start the car!!
Has anybody else had the same problem?
My car is standard with a Tracker Monitor fitted, the guy from Subaru Assist said this is the alarm flatening the battery.
Thanks.

Modern alarm systems are quite power hungry would still expect it to last longer than 8 days though.

If you have the Sigma alarm system, like I have on my MY00, then you can put it into superlock mode to save power. Not sure if they still fit these on 03s or something else?

Superlock shuts down the alarms radio receiver (hence the power saving) so it becomes unresponsive to the remote key fob. The hassle is that when you come back off holiday you have to set off the alrm to gain access to the keypad and then enter your PIN to disable the alarm. Everything then works as normal, it is no longer in superlock mode.

Had the same thing on mine last year and have seen several threads with the same issue

Dealer put a new battery on mine (covered by warantee) with the comment about some problem with batteries from Japan going duff on the trip over?

Haven't had a problem since and have left the car for more than 10 days

Unhappy

Lots of us on here have had similar problems. My dealer changed mine without bothering to test it!
