Hello,
Wanted some advice on which induction kit to have fitted to my my97. Cost and how much extra bhp ????
I already have a ss backbox (most pleased with :-) ). I think an ss downpipe and induction kit are gonna be the scoobs next present on payday.
Cheers,
Greig.

Pipercross induction kit - c£70-80. Independent test gave 10-15bhp gain. Same test also gave PX as most performance enhancing (against K&N, HKSand Blitz)
It is noisy - but mine is no noisier than the K&N's I've heard.

Hi Greig,
You've just got to go for the Blitz kit, got mine done a couple of weeks ago along with Blitz Dump Valve, full Scorpian system and CPU upgrade. All in all in sounds as good as it goes.
Thumbs up for Blitz.....

Ok, cheers. I went to Graham goodes (leicester) and enquired about these, most helpful, and they seem to sell/recommend the K&N. It is good to have a comparison between the brands. I pulled up the PS shootout stats, to see the car/induction kit performance comparison...still unsure as obviously the cars have lots of other mods on.
As you said martin, as long as it feels quicker (in the mind or on the road), im happy....anyway what else can I spend the £100-£200 on ?, my missus ..... I think not.

bugger all difference between any of the makes of induction kit.
bhp increase - marginal. BUT a good increase in spool up times.
great noise though I have the blitz.

When you change panel filter with open cone type the only dif. would be more noise and beter spool up time (too much hot air from engine). You need to have cold air duct and heat shield (MRT) for best performance.

I'm in the same boat.
HKS
BLITZ
A N Other
Which induction kit performs, looks and sounds the best ?
I know they all give about the same power, but which helps the Turbo Spool up faster.
I'm in a 93 WRX will I have problems with the MAF ???
Dump Valves are they worth it ??
Cheers

Barge,
Dont know the full mechanical workings to tell you whether they are worth it technically.......
But I had a bailey dump valve fitted the other week, it has reduced lag and sounds great (got to be worth it) :-)
Though cruising at 90ish on m'ways the dump valve is constantly whooshing when trying to keep constant speed. I assume, or rather hope this is normal behavoir. :-? (Can be annoying on long journey's)
Clive - Can you post prices and fitting details of your blitz kit ?
Ta,
Greig.

Erik.
wrong. this has been discussed to death about induction kits sucking in hot air. At 80mph where is this hot air coming from ? the car in front ? Intake temp plays a very small part in the actual cylinder inlet temp.

I have a GReddy dump valve and an HKS Ind. Kit on my 95 WRX. On constant throttle cruising I have no dump valve whooshing regardless of speed.
Is your DV adjustable? Mine is, not that I've played with it myself.
