Been looking at a very tasty VIII FQ300, but Im hesitant about the firm ride rattling my fillings loose.
Has anyone taken the move to an Evo and regretted it? Or has anyone moved to a Scoob from and Evo?
If so, let me know - I'd be interested in your experiences.

Here we go again.....
I think most evo owners have had a scooby. Unless you were to fall on hard times then there would be no reason to downgrade to a Subaru again. There have been a few that have changed back but at the same time they found the need to "come out", Dale Winton style.
If you go evo then you join an exclusive club. We don't give a $hit about servicing every 4500K or 18mpg because we are rich. We don't buy a car because it has a "nice exhaust note" or 18" wheels or rally stickers or big speakers or flamer kits or neons or scooby doo nodding dogs. It's about driving and nothing else.

stick with an evo.. far better car a to b
sorry guys, love my scoob but mates evo is a better comparitive car... far better
Mine is faster in a straight line, but with the evo's better brakes, ayc etc I don't have a chance on the twistys..

the evo is just a better, balanced more advanced package, its a proper drivers car.
AYC is an noticable advantage, dccd waste of time
my only critiscim is the "image" & styling, too much attention, just my view..
Why not go for a skyline?

Yep - took out an STI8/9 PPP on Saturday morning, followed by an FQ300 for a few hours in the afternoon. FQ300 certainly was in a different league round twisty stuff, but I actually found the brakes and sheer grunt better with the STi. I love the look of the Evo, but the ride was certainly firm!

just moved from a STI7 PPP,to a EVO8 FQ300,and the evo is just in a different league, handling, acceleration, was thinking of a WR1,but there is just something about EVOs,went for the FQ300 rather than the FQ330,cause after all manufacturers are only all rip offs,i mean £3000 for leather seats and a piggy back chip!,most FQ300s are putting out around 330bhp anyway, mind you seen figures for a FQ330 just short of 360bhp!!,mitsi tend to be conservative on there figures, dont think subaru are,put my STI7 PPP on the RR twice best i ever managed was 294bhp,saying that it went like stink and was a absoulutly brilliant car,but its time to move on and as a pure wicked and grin factor car im sorry to say you cannot beat the EVO,silly service intervals, silly MPG,but wot the hell limited to 157mph(not that id ever do it!!) who cares, still going to post and be on scoobynet every single day,gr8 place and at the end of the day we all drive ballistic missiles on wheels!!!! there thats mt two penneth worth!!!!!.....cheers

well here we go. I went P1 to Evo 7 fq 300 and now back again to a P1.
However I didn't px due to the crap trade in offered and so I have both and because I just can't decide which is the better car, I will stick with them for 3 months until I do.
The new P1 has only 1500 miles on the clock and is a the fastest car I've driven and its still totally original - scooby sport decat going on next week. Its significantly quicker than my last P1 in which I did nearly 30000 miles in a year, and seems a quicker than the evo. However I bought the evo because I loved the ride and the handling, and this morning i found myself really missing that rawness which you get with the evo. Side by side I really can't decide - the evo is subtle and menancing, the P1 unsubtle and over the top, but still looks superb. Got some mouth dropping looks driving both of them back on Sunday as together they look fantastic. The evo is a money spender - its got 12000 on the clock and through one clutch and warped discs and a dealership thats uninterested. Security with Subaru as i have a good dealer who will modify and retain warranty but until I have decided I try to keep the bank manager at bay and keep them both.
