After spending a hot sweaty afternoon polishing the scoob, is rinsing out that chamois leather just too much too face? Maybe you could put it in the washing machine? The other cloths you use could do with a wash anyway right?

Wrong!!

Imagine my surprise when, after trying this myself, I found that there was nothing more of the leather left than a few softened shreds - and I mean very few. The washing powder had digested the leather. mmmmmbiological

I'll think twice before sticking my arm in a bowl of the stuff again I can tell you.

Apparently soaking it in washing soda, washing out thoroughly and then using glycerine to condition it is the way to clean chamois leathers. Brought mine up a treat anyway...

I find that throwing them in the bin and buying a new one is the most time efficient solution!
