I ran against a classic cantulya with full-decat and induction and he ran 13.44secs...
in saying that there was a MY99 STi with decat etc wondering how I was achieving 13.6s.
I think Performance Car mag tested a MY97 (totally std) @13.7secs.
Either your car isn't running at its optimum (get it checked) or you launched it badly (get more practise)

i have been going to 1/4 miles, i have the same car and would be pleased with the 14.2 as my best is 14.1 same car(99) with the same mods!. a friend with a tommi mak( evo 6) can only do 14 flat.so that is quite good i would say.

times!!!
Most of those times above seem way too high, would like to see a UK spec'd wagon subaru do 12.3's! lol.
Currently got a rover coupe turbo, 231bhp last rolling road and this will outpace nearly all uk subarus, apart from off the mark say from 0-40ish, but at santa pod my best time is 14.39, crossing at just over 100. Ive raced loads of uk spec'd subarus, inc. m8s bug eyed ppp and he was miles behind by the time we'd got past 100.
Im actually buying an wrx sti v5 modified in the next week or so, rolling road printed for 319bhp, br developments ecu, full exhaust with decat downpipe, piperx filter, fse fuel reg, uprated fuel and oil pumps and Il be pleased if that does low 13's. 280bhp in a scooby aint that much, your losing 30% of the power through the wheels and they are heavy cars, unless in stripped out spec. I had to post this cuz i think a few of you are living in the clouds. Dont wanna diss the Uk spec's but unless heavily modified, they are alot better cars and faster for the money. You can always prove it if you fancy a trip up hams hall on a sunday night

My wife had a Rover 214si once - worst car I've ever had for build quality, real cheap and nasty. And more expensive then the Scoob to service..... The great thing about the Scoob is the amount of heads it turns, my 9yr old son's school mates are all coming back to look at it - he's suddenly become one of the most popular kids at school cos his old man has an Impreza......

Mozza - Almost all the times shown above are for modified UK Turbo's. No one (me included) can really be bothered to list all the mods.
Besides when was the last time you saw a totally un-modded scoob?

Quite a few UK turbos on that list although it doesnt state level of mods. However mine is a UK Turbo Wagon and was number 2 on that list, with approx 330/340bhp and 320lbft, and thats from quite a few mods. Only Harveys was quicker on the day, and his car has had a lot more work done, and was running in at 500+bhp
You will note that the STi7's seem to all get low 13's

my 97 turbo with k&n induction kit and p1 back box. it made 14.3 secs@ 94 mph at last years years scooby shoot out. It seems that this is around the normal time for a more or less standard scoob without ecu work etc and i am happy with that. Wont be doing the shootout this year as i dont see the point in totally wrecking the car to maybe get and extra tenth of a second faster.
