cheers
Bob.

The main one would be a lack of Subaru UK/UK dealer network servicing and warranty support.
Think they're also lacking some features that are standard on UK cars, so you'd have to add in the cost of this (security etc.) when comparing the costs.

I think the reasons are largely due to where the car was sourced from. If it was non-EU (eg Cyprus or Malta), International Motors (UK Subaru importer) will not take on the warranty so you are stuck with a one year warranty from Motorpoint. You need to pay extra to match the UK warranty.
On top of that, if you want a UK spec alarm/immobiliser this will cost extra (your insurer will insist on this).
Cars destined for sunnier climes don't get the rustproofing that UK cars get, so there's more expense to bring it up to UK spec.
There are potential problems with trade-in values when you come to get rid of the car if it is non-UK sourced.
The final point is that it is now possible to buy a UK spec car from a Subaru dealer for not much more than the Motorpoint price. When you add on the extras needed to bring the Motorpoint car up to UK spec it is questionable if it is worth it at the moment. However, changes in currency exchange rates could make a big difference to all this.

Remains to be seen Danny. Some of the Motorpoint cars seem to come from Malta, which isn't joining the EU, and in the case of the Cypriot cars, a lot will depend on the Cypriot Subaru importer joining the pan-European warranty exchange system.
