Default MY03 is your rear plate larger than standard???

Just bought a new plate for my car and im waiting for it to arrive. Thought i would have a look at the standard plates and see how they were fitted and noticed that the rear plate is much wider than standard??? Is this usual? and if so is the plate i have on order gonna look slightly out of place?
You will need to look at your car i expect coz i didnt believe it till i saw it.

Are yours the same???

That's not a standard plate. I wouldn't worry, you should get a normal sized one, whoevers car that is they've put on an oversized plate.
It does look a bit much though, too much spare space around the figures.

Chris.

Did the old one leave a mark? and how is it fitted? doubled sided stickies or otherwise?

yes mate, just those double sided jobs, No problem to remove them at all.
I found the residue left by the old tape was tricky though, but I used a flat sided putty knife just to ease under the pads. Some people have suggested using a hair dryer?
Either way the new plate covered all the old cr&p anyay!

LOL!
Just noticed the sticker in the back window! Is that their trust system on it?

or given our own sub-section..

You like the 333 then, hmmm, might be tempted. gettin really pi$$ed off with the performance now..
Taking the car to Power Station on Thurs to get it diagnostic R/R'd...find out what's REALLY going on.
Might get the 4 wheel geometry set up as well while I'm there..

As the thread says i have no idea what power its putting out but its a much more drivable car and the power just keeps coming.

i think without sticking a V8 in the car the changes start to become a bit neglidgable the further you go..... you will always have that wait till the power comes in, and then its BANG.......and off you go.

is yours still standard?

ecu wise it's standard.
All I've done is had a de-cat downpipe and prodrive B-Box fitted, along with a green panel air filter.
It's just the surge that starts at 2,600 odd rpm seems to stall at 3000 rpm then bang its all back and more at 3,600...
Very hard to drive smoothly, and to avoid it I've been driving very hard (rpm wise) thus economy is well down at the mo...

Did DH put those bits on or has your warantty gone by the wayside?

No idea about ya power surge..... mine used to come in fully at around 3600 with the de-cat and induction kit, it now comes in a little lower down not alot though...induction kit has gone and green panel filter is in....

my economy is crap too, luckily its not my daily driver though
