Bit weird! - Alarm Bracket Broken Off!
Noticed an unusual clunk when i started and stopped my MY00 turbo day before yesterday, on further investigation noticed that the alarm siren unit was hanging on the inner bulkhead by its wires!
Looks like the braket that secures it to the bulkhead has broke! Can easily get it repaired (mate is a welder) but has anyone else had something similar?

yeah mine snapped as well a common problem caused by leaning over the engine to clean it with a tootbrush (electric of course) or the garage mechanics there is a couple of holes that you can put a nut/bolt through although i got it renwed under warrenty
good job i did as the bracket was £65 !!!!

It's a very common problem. Mine's broken twice. There's a dealer fix that mounts it more securely which is supposed to cure the problem - ask any Subaru garage. It's one fault that they do at least admit to

yep. common fault on 99/00 cars. While they're replacing the bracket under warrantee, get them to change the alarm box over.
"Why?" I hear you ask.....
Well, if you haven't already had it done, the original box (Sigma M30) was unsheilded, meaning that it was prone to interference from radio frequencies etc (police, taxis etc). The rendered the fob useless and the car immobilised. So a bit difficult to get into the car.
Don't panic, at worst, you can unlock the car with the key, and input your code on the keypad (u should know where that is ). Just be aware that doing this, the alarm WILL go off. Until you put in the code.
Get Subaru to change it over - it won't (or shouldn't) cost you a penny, and you get a sheilded box that enables you to park anywhere!!
