Unhappy Picked up 3 points - some questions

Hi there folks,

in january this year 'think' I got buzzed by a hidden fixed camera. It suggests I was doing 66mph in a 50mph zone. I could easily see why the speed limit was set at 50 - brand new dual carriage way in the middle of nowhere (near dudley) only saw 1 other car in the entire 10 minutes on the road

The other irritating thing was it was in an unknown part of the country - no excuse but still enough to pi$$ me off.

So the NIP-type stuff came through the post from these folks here:

http://www.safecam.org.uk/

so I was a good boy (there was no way out of this) and sent of my £60 and driving licence to accept the points (damn typical the # of cars I see on the roads each day that look dangerous , rusty, falling off body panels, lights out etc - they should be stopped and given producers) and my licence came back.

I expected to see a 'printed endorsement' on my liccy but its handwritten - is this normal - or has somebody just shafted me ?

I feel personally upset about all this - I 'am' a safe driver and base my speed on road conditions, surroundings, traffic volume etc. Maybe our country would like to explain why the police force and other emergency services kill and injure members of the public - is that careful use of speed ???. I've never had a single driving offence in 10 years

Ian.
(A safe driver just mis-understood by laws that haven't evolved since the advent of wheel and the times when cars took 5 miles to stop from 15mph)

All the endorsements I have ever had were hand written

My points are hand written too mate. Cool innit? Shudda teflon impregnated the paper before I sent it so that I would have been able to wipe them off!

Charles,

ink remover

not that I would consider doing something so underhand - but hey - I think our man Tony needs to drink a bit of his own medicine at the moment dont you ???

And if you are listening Tony - maybe you'd like to compensate me for all the money I spent attending trackdays to keep speed off your $h!++y badly maintained roads.....gggrrrr

They can either hand write or use a typewriter to print the endorsements on you current licence. The endorsement will also be entered into the computer system. If you get a new licence from DVLA (e.g. if you loose [misplace] your current licence) then the endorsement will automatically be printed on the new licence.

Ah -

in that case I can waste some more government money and ask for a new licence as my existing one is now all creased and battered - it was pefect before they got their grubby mits on it - in fact I may ask for a new one every month - as far as I see it they owe me 60 quid LOL.

Do you think if we all ask for a replacement licence the government could cope ??? I wonder how much that would cost.

Off to smoke some more **** to support the UK economy.

Why did you send the nip off They are only looking for the easy kill! The nips not sent recorded delivery so who was to say you got it when you get another letter 6weeks later, reply saying that you don't know who was driving, then ride the storm! It all depends on how big your nuts are
