How can i find out the build month/year of a scoob?
Trying to order a HKS Bov for my friend for his 4 door impreza WRX STi V5. It was imported in march 2000 (brand new) but i cannot find any information about the build date or month? I have the chassis no which starts GC80....
Can the build date be found from this? I have given the supplier the engine and chassis code but he says he still needs the build month/year?
thanks folks

Try going to a supplier who knows what he's talking about. The dumpvalves used by all the model year 1999 and model year 2000 cars (whether STi's, WRX's or UK/Euro Turbo 2000/GT etc.) are the same.
If you're sure the car is a version 5 or a version 6, that'll be all the supplier needs to know, he doesn't need the exact build date.

Try the FAQ at www.SIDC.co.uk , the Chassis No can tell you the MY (Model Year) The supplier doesn't really need to know the month if the MY is known, but FYI MY99 describe Subarus built between Sept 98 and Aug 99.
A quick wat to check (but by no means definative) is to find the dates on the seatbelt labels, this is a good indication of build date if the chassis No. isn't known.
