Lightbulb STI 7 £13000 is this too good to be true

I have found an sti 7 on 2001 plate for 13k, its 30k miles, fsh from japan, imported into country last august and being sold by the cars private importer as it is too heavy on fuel for his high mileage job. Is this too good to be true, apparently it is clear on hpi he says, however I will check myself. Is there any way to find out wether it is a true car, ie, any damage in japan etc. This seems about 2k cheaper than it should be!!! Am i just in luck or what. What are any tell tale signs to look out for on this v7 to ensure all is ok, ie engine codes etc.

if it sounds to good to be true, it usually is! but check it out, for that price i would get an inspection done, aa/rac and do a hpi check, got to be worth a try

If any car is being offered well below the going rate then you need to ask why. There are a few genuine possibilities, need for a quick sale due to change in circumstances and needs the cash quick, moving to another country, really does not know the value of the car etc etc.

But in general it will be because there is an issue. Is the FSH really as full as it seems, how sure are you the mileage is genuine? Could it be that something pretty major is on its way out and they are trying to get rid?

Thats true, all good points thanks, Is it worth having an rac full inspection for £200??? can they do one on imports? surely if I mention this to the guy he shouldnt question it if no problem?

If anyone is reluctant to have an AA/Rac/Independant inspection done then walk away.
If they have no problem with it then you should feel a little more confident in the seller
