Cool

Considering passing on my UK Turbo to the wife and going the STI route myself.
Question: What year produced the best STI?
I have heard that the V3 was a good model, is this true. Should i go for the newest model i can afford or go for a low mileage std V3. Want to spend about £17000, if the wife agrees to take over my car.
Any reccomendations on reliable importers.

Many thanks

Paul

Don't know enough to comment personally, but there was a recent tirade you may have read between P1 buyers and some STi owners.

Paul Frank has an Sti V I believe, if I correctly remember reading the repair threads about it following his accident on the first Northern meet I attended last year.

Do a forum search on stuff he's posted and you should find your way into the world of STi.

I think Mark Otway's owners site wil also list cars in category by type, you might get some contacts to e-mail from there.

Good luck.

Walker..I to have heard that the version 3 was one of the better one's engine wise that is but if you've £17k to spend give at 2 months and V5 will be on offer down there .They are £19 offered at the moment.

I happily own a V5 4 door.

Think the V3 is valid if you want to tune - it seems a little more reliable? than the V5. Saying that, got a V5, done 30k in a year, oil change every 3.5k, dozen track days without a murmur. But whatever you go for, they're all superb.
