04 Sportswagon
Newby here !.
Just replaced an 02 MINI 2 Cooper for a new GX Sportswagon .
What can I expect ??.
I know the handling wont be as good , but I needed more space.
Debated about an WRX , but don't need the bills ! , Got something quicker in the garage should I need an adrenelin rush in the summer month's!.
My 04 Sportswagon fits the bill and seems very responsive as I run her in.
Is there anyone out there that can give me any low down on how the Sportswagon will behave , or are you all turbo owners ?.
Any info would be appreciated.
Cheer's.

Not sure what you want here, assume you must have test driven the car before you bought it and you have been driving about for a while as well so you must have a pretty fair idea yourself...however...
Handling wise it won't be a million miles off the turbo, still 4 wheel drive etc, just very different as far as performance is concerned.
I think you will find the handling to be very good, going from a Pug 206 GTi (comparable with the Mini I guess) I noticed a big improvement, much more positive, better road holding etc etc, different league to be honest. And if the roads are wet then the Scoob is just streets ahead.

Has anyone with one of these fitted the WRX rear spoiler to theirs ?
My Dad took delivery of his yesterday and wanted to fit the WRX rear spoiler to it, but was told that this would leave holes in the car - is this correct ? If so, does anyone know if there are any companies out there that do copy parts that are direct fitments for the original items ?

I got an MY02 WRX Sportswagon. So far I've had to buy new tyres outside of any Service Costs, which I knew about before buying the car. So not excessive bills if you ask me - I went in with my eye's open.
Good choice if you need the space (like me).

If however you mean on a saloon, then that's a different issue. IIRC the boot needs to be drilled as the spolier is held on by bolts through the boot. The same applies to the WRX itself. Assuming you plan to leave it on when you sell it and you seal the holes well when you fit it, it should be possible.

WRX saloon spoiler on a wagon !!??
"How the heck do you plan to fit a WRX spiler on to a waggon? The boot is near vertical the spolier is going to look crap and do bugger all. Suppose you could put it on the roof but that's going to look equally daft."
Agreed, that would look completely stupid !
They actually do a wagon version of the WRX, I meant fitting of the rear spoiler off a WRX wagon onto a GX Sport Wagon ! See links to pics below to see what I mean (not very good pics though as they are more of the front of the car)
Firstly the WRX:

then the GX Sport:

So has anyone tried fitting one to theirs yet ?

I suspect the same aplies as to the saloon. You have to drill holes. The issue is ensuring that things are sealed. Also you have to consider re-sale as you can't really take it off once you have drilled and having a WRX spolier on it may affect the re-sale price.
