Just had my aircon fixed today. It had stopped working, and turned out the intercooler-radiator thing had been hit by a stone.

The cost ? £591!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm still in shock! You can get a new system for £995. I'm beginning to wish I'd never bothered.

This seems to be quite common. Its down to the radiator not being very protected - I think a protective grille from GGR or someone may be in order.

 

Tony, sorry to hear about the condenser getting damaged. That price seems somewhat steep to say the least. At £70 for the GGR grille and a half hour fitting job, it sounds a good investment if it saves that amount. Now, lets see ... 0116 ....

If it is a small leak caused by a stone rather than a fender bender, chances are it can be welded back, which I got done. But the dealer has no financial incentive to do that when they can "sell" you a replacement at that kind of price.
