Question Are there any fairly lightweight 19' wheels out there?

As title really.

Am looking for some nice LARGE 19' for my MY02 WRX, but am a little concerned about adding stupid amounts of weight at each corner.

Diablos, for instance, would be too heavy IMO. I'm not looking for feather-light, just reasonable

Does anyone have any suggestions (apart from SuperLegs, which would be too hard to keep clean IMHO )

many thanks

Best suggestion would be to stick with something smaller on your Subaru, 19" too big from a handling and ride point of view, let alone the unsprung weight.

If you're into the Lax Power thing, you could always buy a Saxo and tart that up...

nothing wrong with Diablo's mate......are you really going to notice the difference on the road ??

Diablo's are just has hard to keep clean as Superlegs.....still too many spokes to clean.

LOL I'll take that post in the good humour it was intended

so tell me more (seriously), why are 19's too large from a handling point of view? I would have thought they would add serious grip for starters......

And are they that much worse than 18' from a ride point of view?

19" wheels won't affect grip unless they're wider than your current wheels, and you could go for wider, smaller diameter wheels and get the same effect.

What your are doing is adding weight, which is not only unsprung but as you're moving the heaviest part of the wheel (the rim) away from the centre point, it's rotating mass which affects handling and braking.

The ultra low profile tyre will probably tramline like a bitch on our crappy roads, too.

i don't have any problems with tramlining with my 19s and the handling and ride in mine is excellent.

19 inch Superleg's, almost the same weight as a 16 inch standard Impreza wheel, lighter if you go for a smaller rim, massive grip and minimal side wall movement on the 35 profiles tyres if fitted.

Coat of wax on them every week should keep the hard grime off them, making them much easier to keep clean.
