Wink

Looks like you could do with a nice steam clean, you should be slapped on the wrist for having an engine bay in that state....

The fitting instructions for any of these aftermarket dump valves are as follows:

1) Open your toolbox
2) Place dumpvalve in toolbox
3) Close toolbox.

If you really want to put it in your car, there's always the glovebox. If you must install it, you can see the standard dumpvalve bolted to the intercooler next to the throttle body.
To remove it, pull off the small pipe at the front, release the spring clip on the recirc pipe with some pliers or mole grips, and pull the recirc pipe off. Then undo the two bolts securing the valve to the intercooler and withdraw, taking care to preserve the gasket.

Refitting the new valve should be the reverse of the above, with the exception that you'll need to place a bung (should be supplied with the DV) in the recirc pipe.

No need to re-edit the pics Zakes. The standard dumpvalve is located on the

Wakey wakey Zakes! Do you really want to be mucking around under the bonnet if things like this need explaining?

The recirc pipe is the "big black pipe on the right of the image connected to the DV", and the spring clip is the clip that stops it coming off...

I had a Blitz dump valve fitted by Van Aken Developments, along with loads of other engine modes down.
To tell you the truth, dump the dump valve.
I passed the very first con rod to my friends Evo 6 via the engine block.
what a mess and what a cost.
To much stress on the engine, Subaru told me.......... I still think I was driving it to hard and it was only 3 weeks out of the 3 yrs factory warr.

good luck, but I would look at other areas for performance increase

Clive's comments are very valid Zakes. Apart from scaring the buffalo, or whatever other wild animals you find on the road, this dumpvalve will do your car no favours whatsoever. The standard DV is the best one you could possibly fit as far as the engine is concerned, and is really best left where it is.

No problems with steam cleaning, it's pressure washes you've got to be a bit more careful with.

sounds like you need a pipe, decat, Air induction to start with.

wish I could have been a boy racer when I was at uni.
I could only manage the old t reg red escort van, but now the WR1 is one her
way, well it will be when they release the beast.

have already got a DIY decat (d/pipe and centre section). and a green cotton air filter. you really should try getting things done to a turbo car in kenya. they open up the bonnet at the garage, wonder why the engine is sitting sideways, and ask what that big shiny thing (the turbo) is. and why is the radiator on top? check out more of my car on http://zak.carhirekenya.com

am studying in south africa, in windy cape town. and the car is 4000 kms away in nairobi kenya... cant wait for easter break again.
