Default New Feature for FOR SALE and Plus members

Hi All

In an attempt to continually improve the additional services for subscribers, we have added a new feature for those subscribing to the For Sale section and for Plus Members..

Next to subscribers posts (under their username) is a tag saying "MY FOR SALE ITEMS".

If you click that link you are given the categorised latest items that person has for sale.

All the best

Simon

Does it automatically pop up when you post

Will we be able to edit?

Or do you still have the terzo up for grabs?

No point in showing old items is there?

Nice feature - but I've not had anything for sale for ages...

Is it possible to make the link only appear if that user has actually posted a FS or Wanted ad in the last couple of weeks? There will be a lot of dead links to ads that have long since expired otherwise.

Just my €0.02...

OK, let's set it so that they are only threads within the last 6 weeks?

That way it should cover just about everything

Cheers

A great idea! But can we please have the facility to switch them off if we've nothing on sale. Not only will it make the forums look better, but it will mean that only members with items to sell will appear on the forums and so make the feature more useful

Agreed - a link that brings up a window showing that there's nothing FS isn't really much better than one that brings up a load of expired ads.

I guess the problem is knowing what the results of a search in the FS/Wanted forums would be before deciding whether to display the link or not. The server doesn't want to have to do a search of every Plus member's FS/Wanted ads every time a post is displayed.

Perhaps if it can't be switched on and off automatically, there could be a setting in each member's CP to say whether they have something currently for sale or not?

Hi Guys

Making it automatic would be a right pain, and difficult to manage, but we can make it switch on and offable!

We'll work on that over the next few days.

Cheers

could be auto-onnable (that's never a word) whenever we post something in for sale

Then it'd just be the members job to off-it (nor that) if they're not likely to sell something in future

But it's a good idea (i didn't know Ian was selling a corsa - not that I want one )

Hi All

The feature has now been set to switch on/off-able with a setting in your user profile options.

I'll have a think about making it switch on automatically, but I hope this will tide you over

All the best
