Question How do I improve MY03 WRX Steering Feel?

I've had my WRX about 6 months now and when I am "driving in an enthusiastic manner" I don't seem to get enough feedback through the steering as to what the front wheels are doing, their response to my input and how much grip I have.

Now I know the 03 WRX has been criticised for it's lack of feel and feedback so how can I improve it.

I have thought of getting the alignment done by experts (Powerstation?) or the Prodrive spring kit.

When I had a MY99 there was much talk about the "Prodrive Geometry Settings". Are these the same for 03 WRX cars?

Maybe just one of them things mate.

What about a smaller tyre? 40 profile maybe?

i'm getting the spring kit in the hope of resolving this. I think the steering wheel itself could be smaller and lighter (ie. little momo - no airbag) which would also improve the feel, but there's no chance of me doing that (warranty/insurance)

If you want to keep your warranty intact then go for the prodrive spring kit and full geometry set-up. This should improve things to a certain degree.

If warranty isnt an issue then go to someone like TSL or Powerstation and fit new springs, dampers, etc so you can set it up how you want it.

MY02 WRX --> I got Eibachs and geometry done which improved things a little
THen I added solid rear droplinks, 24mm ARB, front strut brace, and most importantly, Powerstation's ANti-lift kit, which improved steering feel a LOT

Same here if you want more steering feel you need to fit Anti Lift Kit from powerstation, I have on MY03 with Prodrive springs, Rear ARB , Solid Drop Links Uprated ARB Bushes.
Next step is to fit 18's with 225/40 tyres that will give you some steering feel I can tell you!!! Almost feels like a big Go Kart now LOL

I have an Sti quick rack for the 03 car for sale if you want spec c / WR1 steering feel!

2.2 turns lock to lock, makes a hell of a difference.
