Default What car to buy

Hello,

I'm new to this forum and just wanted to get some opinions on what car I should get next.

The three cars I have in mind are the Subaru Impreza UK300, Audi S3 or Audi TT. I did really want the STi but the insurance was to high.

I would be grateful if you could give your opinions on the cars I have in mind. I know you will be biased, but I would still like to hear what you have to say.

Thanks in advance.

Have you driven any of them ? I think they all have their plus and minus points , I think the proof will be in the test drive , The Audi's will feel a lot more solid and refined , The scoobie a bit more on the 'raw' side .Prepare for the TT to get a good slagging off on here though !

A few test drives at the weekend sir ??

I am unsure of the TT because of the image. I have driven a few S3's. I am booked in to test drive an STI 8 and a 225bhp TT tomorrow.

I currently have a mk2 Golf GTi and didn't find the S3 that much more exciting to drive.

Have fun ,but bear in mind that the STI is a bit of a different animal to the uk300

I booked the test drive in the STi before I got my insurance quotes. Can't wait to have a go tho.

What do you think of the UK300?

I think it's the same performance wise as the normal bugeye WRX , unless you have the Prodrive Performance Pack fitted (ppp) which will put your insurance up , but looks better than the normal WRX IMHO , Have a look here for some info http://www.iwoc.co.uk/my2001uk300.html

Thanks for the information.

Have you thought of a Golf R32, I had one before I bought my STI. Prefer the STI but the Golf is well equipped and very good to drive, better than the S3 by a long way. There are a few available out there and a load of good deals on them too.

Never thought of the golf R32. I think the VW dealer has a black one. I might check it out as well this weekend.

Have you tried Liverpool Victoria, they do some very good insurance deals on Scoobys.

Anyway out of those three it has to be the Scooby every time, unless you're a hairdresser

I think it maybe the scooby to. I will try Liverpool Victoria for a quote and hopefully I will be able to get an STi.

Seem to be lots of TTs about. Perhaps not so good for exclusivity; as Top Gear mag
said, it kind of tries too hard to be cool.

Isn't there a 3.2V6 TT ? That should have lots of tuning potential.

I don't particularly like the image, but that shouldn't stop you.

I'm not sure about the image either and I think it's not worth getting the S3 if there is a new one coming out next year. Looks like it maybe the scooby.

True to say that you'll notice a vast difference between the performance of the STi and any of the others you've mentioned. Just hang on to the wheel, that's all I can say....

I have just test driven a 2002 Impreza STi and what a car. I thought I would have to go for a WRX or UK300 because of insurance, but I have just got a quote for £1100 on an STi so that's what I'm going to get.

I couldn't stop smiling after driving it. I'm not oing to bother test diving the Audi S3 or the TT.
