944 Turbo V MY03 sti
Picked up my new to me 944 turbo at the weekend, and yesterday I had the chance to play with an 03 STi.
This included some straight line and twisties.....and to be honest the mid range of the 944 was too much for the sti.
Maybe the sti had not been PPPd, although it had a big exhaust on?
My turbo has been lightly breathed on, so about 280bhp - but once moving the sti was lagging behind.
14 years old and still beating new cars - yay!

ooh this could get ugly!
I am another very happy 944 turbo convert. Had mine for about 8 months now and am very impressed with it. Noticeably quicker once moving than my previous RB5 WR and wonderfully balanced but obvioulsy demands a bit of restraint in the wet. As you say, not bad for a 14 (in my case 16) year old car.

I was looking at them in the 911 mag this morning actually. I still love that shape, especially guards red .mmmmmmmmmm
oh and within minutes this thread will be full of never throught he twisties comments.
Personally I would say it would a good match with the scoob in standard form, and in the hands of the right driver on the 'ring' its bloodxy terrifying DAVE COZ I KNOW YOU WILL READ THIS...LOL

That suspension you have is extremely good. Looks like "Leda" to me????
Christ, my suspension is a bit tired now - imagine how quick I'm going to be after that is sorted!! Can't wait....
0-60 means nothing!! GGGrrrrrrr AAAaaagghhhhh!!! 10-70, 30-80 etc etc THAT is a TRUE indication of a cars performance.
Don't know about you guys but very rarely when I'm "driving quicker" whether it be on a track on on the public highway ;-) would I ever stop......wait....then start the little playtime with (in this case) the STI.
Respect going out to th 944. Its great!!

I think 0-60 matters quite a lot in the UK particularly where the only fun you can have is accelerating upto the pathetically low speed limit.
Put it this way, last time I was home, I had a few 'races' from the lights with various nice bits of kit, including cars that are theoretically a lot faster than my Subaru. Guess what though, it was either damp or raining and who do you think won easily up to 70mph. Sure as hell wasn't the bright yellow Esprit, or the black M3.
A27+rain+Impreza+a set of F1's= some seriously pissed off drivers of faster cars.

you should all get your selves on the autobahn over here then you will see who wil waste who. 0 to 70 is no judge of a cars performance.
I wasted a Ferrari 355 the other day but only because he couldn't accelerate as quick as me but I am not deluded enough to think my scooby is now a ferrari killer.

Indeed on the autobahn I was being overtaken by diesel mercs all the time, they sit there on the rev limit doing 200kph+. A 944 Turbo would beat an Impreza top end no question. Personally I don't see much fun doing the top end of mt car in a straight line, plus I'd have to stop every 80 miles or so to fill up.
You have to admit though that most peoples driving experience in the UK is accelerating up to the speed limit (if not they wont be doing it very long), something the Impreza does very well wet or dry.
