ScoobySport - THE END OF AN ERA!

ScoobySport - THE END OF AN ERA!
It is with enormous dissapointment that I have to announce the fact that ScoobySport has ceased trading.
Pete Croney (who owned scoobysport) is a true legend, and a significant part of the very fabric of the ScoobyNet community. He has been here since the begining (before ScoobySport was ever created). He has always been a true enthusiast, and used this passion to create his business.
He developed and produced his own exhaust system, took it to track days, of which he was in regular attendance with the rest of the scooby regulars. Everyone was so impressed he became inundated with orders almost immediately. He started his own company and called it ScoobySport.
Pete has long since (and prior to this even) been one of the most loved and respected members of the scooby scene. His products are sold throughout the world and his backbox must be one of (if not THE) most famous after market exhaust systems available for the Subaru.
Pete is also an extremely accomplished driver. The community was always reassured by the fact that he has an indepth knowledge of vehicle dynamics, and certainly knows how to punt a car around a ciruit.
I am desperately dissapointed for Pete, and I know that almost all of the ScoobyNet community (especially the old timers!) will be crushed by this news. It really is the end of an era.
He is THE longest standing scoobynet advertisers and put his hand in his pocket to help start up ScoobyNet2 when I took it on, (god knows how long ago that was, but I'm sure someone will be able to tell me! ) and has been supporting us every month since.
As with ANY highly visible and successful company, ScoobySport has had it's share of controversial posts, but a stunning sign of what ScoobySport actually means to us all is the wonderful and instant posts of support Pete always receives. Pete has indeed serviced my car, including sorting my gearbox out when 3rd went on holidays, and they did a great job.
Whilst ScoobySport has always been visible, I have always respect Pete's willingness to take public criticism, and the fact that he has NEVER pushed his products or services in our face. Having been around for so long, Pete was probably better placed than anybody to be able to post the odd plug here and there, but I honestly cannot think of a single occurance. This kind of thing shows a rare strength and quality of character that I respect greatly.
---
I would like to keep this thread here as a tribute to Pete Croney's incredible contribution to the ScoobyNet community. His huge contribution to the UK (and worldwide) Subaru modification scene. His general great character and personality, and as a friend of ScoobyNet and the whole community since the beginning of it's existence.
Please post all your pictures from track days, meets, movies, etc, etc of Pete, from the old days all the way up to the new days.
---
All the best VERY VERY VERY best for the future Pete. Thank you for bringing ScoobySport and your expertise, knowledge and great fun to us all.
Kindest of regards
Simon and the WHOLE of ScoobyNet!

Very sorry to hear this
Pete always took the time to reply to queries I had even if it meant talking me out of having work done.
A full scoobysport de-cat was the first mod I did to both of my scoobs.
Good luck to Pete for the future

A real shame. As Simon said, Pete's passion in the early days helped make the UK Subaru scene what it is. He was even brave enough to sit with my wife whilst she piloted our 22B around Brands on her first ever trackday Our thanks to Pete for that

When I first got into the scene scobysport were basically THE ONLY people to go, luckily for me I lived 5 minutes away.
I must of spent days in that place, and I'm completely shocked at this news.
Pete, any idea what your going to do next?

Good Luck!
Pete was there RIGHT at the start. The tuning and the members scene would not be what it is today without him.
Sadly, I guess all the tuning companies that saw how well he was doing and sprung up in his shadow have diluted the market....
On the other hand, lets not get too morose.... No reving of engines to 5000revs at 12:00 in memory or anything like that!
PETE'S NOT DEAD!!! Just Scoobysport... :-)
Good luck Pete... :-)

Damn :-(
If you read this Pete I'm so sorry to hear the news
The first mod I did on my Terzo was the legendary Scoobysport backbox
Then seemed to spend a lot of time in the next couple of years zipping round the M25 to Basildon for more bits
Let us know what your new venture is
All the best
Ian

Pete, that's a real shame.
We only met the once but your team did a cracking job on my bugeye and you were always happy to take calls and answer my stupid questions afterwards.
Good luck with whatever you decide to do and feel free to keep in touch with a fellow flyer.

Although Pete and i clashed over a certain incident a while ago i have nothing but respect for the man and what he has achieved. I think its a great shame and a HUGE loss to the Subaru community i wish him well in whatever he decides to do next.Good luck Pete

Damn shame
As Simon has said, for many of us, Pete was the first place we went to when we got Scoobs. I've known him for over 3 years. He has never been anything other than courteous, good fun and a decent guy.
Both my Scoobs have had SS exhaust systems and they have been faultless. There are countless other SS bits on my cars aswell.
Best of luck Pete in whatever you choose to do now.
Cheers
Chris

I've never been one for many mods on my cars, but the few that I have had (back box filter & downpipe) were from Pete. He put up with my endless questions and never gave me anything less than excellent service.
I'm very sad to hear the news Pete, it is indeed the end of an era. Especially for us oldtimers.
My best wishes for the future.

Sad Day for all of us.
Scoobysport did a great job on both my exhaust and on the remap for my STi 03. Like other posts have already said, Pete really did try and help everybody including myself and would email back replies as soon as.
All the best in your future venture's Pete.
