Hi all (my first posting!). I have a (1995) turbo and am looking to replace this with a newer (still classic) model with less miles etc. A local trader is trying to push me on to 'imported' stock which he has aquired, although I am cautious. Any advice would be apreciated on this matter... I understand that I would have to add 'additives' to my petrol, parts may be a little difficult to locate, insurance may be higher etc. Look forward to advice from the specialists...

You would have to run it on Optimax and some form of octane booster to keep some peace of mind and fit the obligatory Knock link. As for parts, I would'nt say they would be hard to come buy, there are plenty of tuners around to accomodate your needs.
Your Insurance however would be more expensive, with some companies refusing to quote on it, how much more would depend on model.

It's a device which monitors Knock(pinking), which can lead to serious engine damage, you can pick them up for around £130, pretty simple to fit.
