![Question](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/icons/icon5.gif)
A collegue at work has just had his MY03 WRX fitted with the PPP. Apart from the louder exhaust he's not seeing any noticable difference in either the power or the reduced turbo lag.
We both know this is wrong and the dealer has probably screwed up.
My question is, so that we have some realistic statements to go back to the dealer with, for those of you who have a standard MY03 WRX fitted with a PPP - what was the difference?

just out of curiosity how long did it take to fit? mine took all day to fit
The PPP should give the same power as a standard STi
Have a read of this

Thanks for ther replies - we're just munching through all the info on the previous thread ![Wink](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/wink.gif)
Car was at the dealer's for the day but not sure how long it actually took them...
One questuion that has sprung to mind is does it "feel better" over time i.e. take a bit of time to become optimal?

would have thought it would feel quicker right away.
When dose the boost seem to come in? mine seems to come in at about 2500rpm?
Mine was fitted from new so I can really say how much better if fells from standard
Take it that the intercooler hose has been fitted along with the round tail pipe.

Mine definitely feels much quicker than a standard WRX with boost from 2500. The biggest difference is the much higher torque at low revs which I noticed immediately.
Only 75 miles on clock so far, and so far none of the problem symptoms such as "waves of power", but then again keeping below the 4K limit is very hard !!! I will probably wait until about 250 before giving it the occasional high rev blip. I don't expect the car to give anything like the full power output until it has at least 5000 miles on it and the engine has loosened up a bit.
The intercooler hose is bright blue in colour with Prodrive written all over it, and is visible below the the intercooler on the drivers side - well thats what I think it is anyway.
I would guess that if your mates car doesn't feel much different then it would be a good idea to get the actual power of the car measured, and if it isn't close to the 265BHP then go back and complain.

Jasoon,
Yep, got it yesterday, and it is great, although engine is still very tight and 4K rev limit very tricky to keep close to
Much better over the bumps than the ST. Wife loves it, but 'cause she came home late from work, she hasn't been in it on the road and she is desperate for a go! Even called me at work to find out how the journey in this morning was...
I have noticed one slight problem though - a hint of moisture in the driver side rear light cluster; I will keep an eye on it and have it seen to at the 1K service if necessary.

You will definately notice the difference! well I did...
The new PPP ECU may have to do some learning, so it may take a few driving sessions to get the optimum power available (as far as I know).
It may be that the dealer has screwed up with the fitting, or the ECU hasn't yet learnt (unlikely I would have thought).
It's worth checking that they have changed the small plastic restrictor in the turbo piping.

Ian,
did he get the old ECU, piping, exhaust stuff back, thus you know they at least changed something!!!
They should be able to show you what they've done inc the new ECU etc.
regards
Greg

Cheers for all the replies - after studying all the info, something is amiss so it's going back to the dealers on Monday with the collective sum of suggestions from Scoobynet

I would have thought the ECU makes the major difference power / torque wise. Can you tell if it has been changed. Would have thought the PPP'd ECU would have a Prodive sticker on similar on it
