Going to pick my MY01 WRX up 2morrow and I can't wait any longer, I am having to drive from Harlow Essex to Reading and me and the wife have already started to argue who will be driving it home so we have agreed to swap cars at a service station but little does she know there is one about a mile from the garage

I drive the same car (WRX01), I didnt drive it before I bought it.
I too was excited at the prospect of driving it home from Leeds to L,pool, I was so disapointed you wouldnt believe....
Dont think its going to fly, because it wont.
They are pretty quick but they dont feel quick.
Sorry to 'wee on your fireworks' but thats the way it was for me.
I was driving a 306TD at the time, which makes it worse.

Its got a Euctek re-map kicking out 280 bhp so should be ok, I also test drove and nearly brought a jdm type r 320 bhp but dealer wanted WAY TO MUCH

Iv got a 250 bhp 01 and they are quick iv drove some nice cars in my time dont under estimate the power i laft at the salesman when he said be carefull im in no doubt you wont be able to wipe the smile off your face for a month but BE CAREFULL

topoff you'll love it, believe me. Granted you will 'get used' to the acceleration fairly soon, but I can assure you that on your way home you will be grinning like a kid at christmas. I know I was.
After 2 months though it feels normal - the only thing that reminds me it's fast is the very small cars in my rear view mirror when taking of from traffic lights
