Default Knocking sound from suspension after Prodrive Springs fitted....

When I move from standing I get a knocking sound from the suspension, I think I may have noticed it on stopping too.

It seems OK under cornering and compressions though.

Normal or back to the dealers?

Is this a known problem? I sometimes get a knocking sound from the backbox area when I go down a 'corkscrew' exit of the multi-storey car park I use.

You could check to make sure the nuts on the top of the struts are tight. Mine started knocking, the nuts on the rears were loose. Lift the rear seat back rest out and you can easily get to them.

I have a classic MY00 and had mine serviced recently. Noise usually occurs when accelerating hard just when you put the clutch in to change gear and when changing down. Asked about knocking noise which I thought was exhaust or back door. They (RCM) said T bar piece bolted between diff and floor of car just in front of rear wheels through bushes. Apparently knocks through the bushes against the floor of the car causing said noise. Also caused by hard starts (ooops). They said they can get some bushes made up to stop this. Haven't got them yet but will soon I think I'll let you know if it cures the noises....
Did seem to get worse after having eibachs fitted at the service.
Thats my story- dunno if its the same for anybody else?

Mines awaiting a new strut for the rear nearside, the dealer has already changed the top strut mount, but the knocking is still there so new strut it is.

All.

The rear anti roll bar bushes are well known (?) to go on the JDM STi's and P1 (which is of course just an inferior version of the JDM STi Ver V!!); generally it's a knocking sound from the rear. Replace them with nylon ones rather than rubber - should do the trick.

X.
