WR1 for £27, 677 delivered ??
micronet are advertising alleged WR1's for this price - having ordered at £30K, if this is true I'm a bit pi##ed off frankly. If they are getting genuine WR1's from dealers for this, the dealers are making nothing out of them... any ideas ?

What cracks me up is Subaru UK have always sold their cars with a 3yr pan-european warranty. AFAIK any Euro Dealer was always happy to repair or service a UK car, yet buying a car abroad and bring it over here, suddenly turns it into a big pile of sh!te that no UK Dealer will touch
It's about time the UK Dealer/IM got fined for this nonsense.

Just to clarify - it's illegal for IM or any subaru dealer to deny warranty or service for an EU import scoob..
Cyprus aint in the EU so if you have no leg to stand on if it's a Cypriot import..
Micronet state quite clearly on their website that they are all UK sourced cars..
p.s. seen as you can get a Mondeo Ghia x diesel over the web for 17k when dealers charge 21K shows you how much dealers make..

ummmmmmm......me smells a rat :D
Bit of an interesting one this....and I am sure IM will have something to say about it....the WR1 is a UK car....orders have to be submitted by individuals/companies purchasing from a UK franchised dealer (IMHO) via IM...cover has to be issued, a covernote received and the car is then registered in the individuals/companies name prior to all engine modifications being carried out....the car is then delivered....
...personally I cannot see how this would work for micronet....I might be wrong, but I don't think the dealers are earning THAT much out of the cars to make it worth selling onto a Third Party??? Not exactly good business sense IMO....also why on earth would a dealer sell a limited edition car onto third party competition at what looks to me like a loss??? In fact why wouldn't the dealer sell the car to a customer at that price in the first place.....well probably because it is a limited run and most have already sold their allocation at the OTR price of £29,995.00.
If the car is from Cyprus, then it will be more than likely 265 ps ... will not have the Prodrive Performance mods tho could possibly have the wheels, lights, mesh etc....tho probably not the springs and certainly not the limited no???!!!
If the car is from anywhere else in Europe, then it will be more than likely 265 ps ... will not have the Prodrive Performance mods tho could possibly have the wheels, lights, mesh etc....tho probably not the springs and certainly not the limited no???!!!
As I said above...me smells a rat....tho of course I might be wrong......

Micronet advertise the new Clio V6 255 at a little over £22K, when I enquired about this car, they told me that Renault UK were not prepared to sell the car at that price. I'd be very surprised if the situation with the WR1 is any different!

I saw this on micronet about 4 weeks ago. I emailed their boss as a few other brokers were unable to supply a WR1. He confirmed that the cars were UK dealer supplied and that they were able to supply.
Depends how much you trust them, I suppose. In the end I bought an Evo instead!
There are a few supermarkets advertising STIs at £21k - these are frequently imports from Malta - so no Subaru UK warranty. Best were the brokers at a touch under £23k for a UK dealer supplied STI.

Regarding Malta & Cyprus, they are joining the EU in May so the pan-european warranty will have to be covered by IM. I wonder if places like Motorpoint will be uping their prices, if not then they now start to look good value.

So a WR1 is a UK car only with all the trimmings?
If micronet advertises a car as a WR1 then surely it has to be a 'UK car with all the trimmings' else they'd be misrepresenting under the trade descriptions act? In other words it's either a WR1 or is isn't. If it isn't then they can't advertise as such, am I right?

cant see them on producing them in the uk, but i suppose if they are to celebrated victory in the rally etc, then i mite well be. but the company advertising as wr1`s would be silly as it can cost lost of money in the court room.
