Dependa how serious and how many different layers of products you want to use.
Say you might only want to wash the car and then just wax it, or you might want to go one step better and wash it, polish and then wax. And then theres another step up etc, also how much would you like to spend.
Either way ill post my answer to what you should be looking at getting.
The best place to look and buy would be from http://www.seriousperformance.co.uk/
Tell Alex Rhodri sent you!

Wash , clean then wax. Expensive but the best if you really want your car to look good.

Its all horses for courses really. There are different levels of quality, that people wont see untill theyve either seen a car or detailed a car with the said product.
Meguiars are probably the best all over the board, with everything from the newbie to the profesional range. There new NXT range as seen them regain some highend detailers respect again, were as most people in the know will tell you that no single product is as good as knowing what to use on what color car in a certain condition.
As for me with a black car, Ive found that the Clearkote range has done the trick to the highest level, and only a select other few product would I use on it, but then the same setup on my mother metallic green car doesnt have the same effect.
A word of advice for people who would like to see there car even better with just one addition would be the Clay Bar, the difference between a full polished car, one that has and one that hasnt been clay bar is shocking.

Meguiars' Quick Wax is great if you're in a hurry. Otherwise, the 3 stage is pretty good, but try using their Gold Class Wax instead of the regular wax. Gold class Shampoo is pretty good, too. And the clay cars are excellent.

Used to use Megiuers which is very good, but if you want the best results you have to spend a bit more. Swissol is by far the best cleaner/wax I have ever used, the difference is huge. See if you can get someone near you that has it to do a panel on your car and you will see the results.
It is amazing after you wax, water just beads off with no effort and the car stays cleaner longer I find.

I used the Meguiars cleaner wax, it seemed quite hard work to get it to remove little tar spots and that sort of thing, took ( a lot !! ) longer than I hoped. But overall it seems a good product. Swissol is the daddy but I came to realise however shiny I want the car, there is a limit to what I will spend on polish and stuff.
I always rated the autoglym polish well for many years, the only fault I found was it wont maintain a shine for a long period, it is fine if you wax real regular though.
