Well today has been a good day at Santa Pod, nice to see some of you guys turn up. Met some new faces too, It all started off a little shakey with John Felstead and I running together, I won't say what that time was by me .

3rd and last run of the day came to 12.77 seconds 1/4 mile run, Im pleased with that John managed some great times (12.5) and thats with no traction.

4th and final run of the day the westfield did

reaction time 0.587
60ft 2.221
330ft 5.611
1/8 ET 8.298
1/8 MPH 90.09
1/4 ET 12.547
1/4 MPH 115.79

Not winging but i was 0.2bar down on boost, my waiste gate actuator bracket is bending again! It was running 1.6bar instead of 1.8bar. By the time i got home it was down to 1.4bar. I will have to make a thicker one, still 12.547 aint bad for a RWD car on road tyres and standard type diff.

Traction, what the hell is that? LOL

I think i will stick to track days as my car is far more suited to that, and so am I.

Still a good day out and interesting to see what it is all about, i was forced to have a bondage session before each run but we wont talk about that

he he he he.

I have just checked all the performance stats for the fastest runs ever done with the westfield SEiGHT (V8 Powered westfield that replaced my model) in all its dirivitives and my car has beaten the lot of them!! And mine is setup for track action and not sprints/drag runs

well chuffed

I went to a massive westfield meeting this afternoon and was talking to the people at westfield cars and showed them my timing slip. I now understand why they were gobsmaked he he

So its oficial guys, my westfield is the fastest in the country that has ever been timed. (and i was about 20BHP down on power)

Well done John and Harj

Read on the IWOC mailing list this morning, that a WRX in Oz has now done the 1/4 mile at 10.5 seconds @135 mph!

Not sure if it's a 1/4 mile special car (ie road legal etc), but will try to find out more.

I was up there, plagued with troubles,
First Run bonnet came almost off..13.5
Second run tried a different start and ran in low boost didn't work...13.7

Third Run, was ok but spinning 1st, 2nd, third, the track was soooo slippy.
Only managed 13.033 @ 111mph,

Fourth run, got a perfect start then hit some missfire on the top end...13.2

not really very good for the last outing with 330bhp..all well, hopefully air to air and 420 conversion should see me into the early 12's

Shaun, bring the handcuffs but forget the chasterdy belt Oh and bring the misses, she is lovely LOL

Couldn't believe they made me tie my arms together and through the seat belts. Good job i didnt have a fire is all i can say after thinking about it. There is certainly more chance of having a fire due to engine failure than rolling a westfield, thats for sure. Dumb rule IMHO

Your new Escort Cossie, very nice, once that is up to 330BHP it will be a great car.

Mailed MikeR to see how our times compaired and i have beaten his best ever time at the Pod on my first attempt, chuffed with that as well

John, do you run harneses in the Westie?
If so you can get wrist straps from Demon Tweeks etc. that have loops that you put the buckle through form the shoulder straps. Everyone in the Caterham Acadamy series is running them as last year one guy had an accident that he would have walked away from, but for the fact that his wrists weren't restrained. Instead he got two broken arms. If you have an accident the wrist straps come off when you undo the harness.
Well worth it for track use.

thanks paul, i will look into that. what they made me do at the Spod was just plain stupid though!

And as for the guy who was lining the cars up, what a miserable sod, absolutely no sense of humour at all. Didn't get any of my bondage jokes at all.
