Default P1 or UK300

Serious question. With a family I find the P1 (as great as it is) not easy to live with day to day. Would a UK300 be a good compromise?

How about an STi type UK PPP?
4 doors, you can get these cars for similar prices as a P1 (19-20k) so.....

The one I have seen has gold OZ alloys, prodrive spoiler, exhaust etc. Not a fan of the new shape to include the STI UK but this one looks quite nice.

Get at UK sti - I have one and Had a UK300+PPP - The STD STi makes the UK300+ppp seem like a tractor .

When I get bored with the UK STi I'm gonna fit PPP and get another year or so out of it before getting my WR3

Yes it may be your opinion, but PLEASE move with the times. I would like a Morris Minor but I cannot go out and buy a new one, times change, its called progress. When will the "classic" owners get a grip and bite the bullet and move with Subaru. You cannot live with your trusty "classic" forever, it WILL expire one day. If we all had this mentality in all aspects of our lives we would be watching black and white TV's listening to an Amstrad music centre, fumbling on the keyboard of a "classic" Acorn Electron computer with its whopping 32k of memory or washing our clothes with a "classic" twin tub.

Classic? What classic?

I was simply stating my preference. I have no problem with progress, but not all progress is for the better.

It's all a matter of personal taste, but as I said IN MY OPINION the UK 300 is the ugliest Impreza made (so far). The operative words here are MY OPINION. I hate the lights, I REALLY hate the spoiler, and I love the fact that most people assume it's a 300BHP car just 'cos of the name

I really doubt that many people on here, or anywhere for that matter, would honestly say that the bugeye was a better looking car than the classic, especially in P1 / STi form.

I do not have a problem with the new age cars, in fact I'm just about to start shopping round for an STi8, but the 'stop gap' that was the bug/blob eye was, even by Subaru's admission, very wrong.

The original post asked for opinions, and that is what was given. My opinion.

Ta.

And what's wrong with a twin tub?

Why should we give you flack when your telling the truth
IMHO the UK300 was a very dressed up MY01, you dont actually hear many people talk about it, if you consider the other cars within 2 years of this that Prodrive produced (RB5 and P1) if you even try to add a UK300 in there people look at you funny, its like the freak of the family (sorry UK300 owners but its true) and just ignored.
As you say, the STi is a better looking car

Easy solution, buy a classic wagon practical, looks good 5 doors and is faster than a UK300 or P1, well mine is anyway
