Default Discount on a new STi? (Scotland)

Out of madness a year and a half ago I sold my 98 Turbo and bought a 4x4 mudplugger, now keen to get back into a Scoob.

Can anyone advise on dealers in Scotland/Northern England who are good to deal with for a new Sti, the local guys here are Town & County and they held pretty firm when I bought my 98 car. I've seen on another threat the £25k list price can be pulled down to around £23k?

Any advice would be appreciated.

Cheers,
David.

Probably your best bet is to try Stan Palmer in Cumbria. Lots of good reports, although i have had no experience myself.

Or try John Spicer at S&S in Ayr 01292-880080.

We had a "group buy" two years ago and bought five STI's from him!

Tell him that Mark Lydon told you to call him. I can't promise anything but he's always keen to offer a good deal if your honest with him.

Get a quote from www.tins.co.uk and use that as a starting point for negotiations. When I was looking at new WRX's, they quoted £18.5k (inc metallic) and most dealers were prepared to match it straight away.

Most dealers should give at least a 8% discount. Many are offering 10% if you push them hard enough

Also consider using Autoebid - dealers can auction for your business - cheapest price wins. They are quoting a minimum 9% discount on Scoobs at the moment

agree with mark, if you give brian or john spicer of S&S Services a call, they tend to be very good to deal with, took delivery of a sti last week after looking at all available in the area, motorpoint in glasgow offer imported versions ( malta) at just over £21k but they have no subaru warranty or tracker etc.
