Number Plate Info Please
I was thinking of getting a smaller front number but was wondering about the legal side.
Would I be right by saying the number plate can be as small as you like aslong as the size of the letter remains the same? or am i talking rubbish?
Thanks
Ashley

You want to check out the DVLA website (do a quick search for it), they have all the specifics on what size, spacing etc the number plate has to conform to, anything outside these lines is illegal and you can be fined for it.

Chris,
I've been fined once (£40), the real problem is the police also notify DVLA, and once you have been cautioned 2 or may be 3 times they have the right to withdraw the reg from you.
(All I have ever done is changed the spacing) most normal bobbies do not worry, but m-way police are ususally bored, and make a bee-line for you.

All I want to do is have the S600BY bit slightly closer together with the last letter a little further apart. Presume this is what you have done? If the letters are clear and visible then what's the problem? I know some people take the **** and put little dots in to make say two 1's look like an H but being a couple of millimetres out between spacing is taking a bit far don't you think?
