Question Age or mileage?

I am currently in the market for a new, used car. What is perplexing me is weather mileage or age is more important??

Hypothetically, if you were looking at 2 cars, both in good condition at the same price with fsh, one a '98 with 60k miles, the other a '95 with 30K miles, which would you go for? My head says that low mileage is the best safeguard, but then it's always nicer to have a newer car.

Heeeelp! Not sure what's best. Anyone offer any help comments on this question?

Cheers,

Mart.

That is actually a very good question ..... I think if it was me I would be considering how many miles I was gonna do in the car and how long i would be keeping it for. If its 2 years and 40K miles then I would go for the low miler, as a 70K car is gonna be a better seller than a 100K IMHO.

A good question though to be fair.

Its also worth considering the extent of the year and model change. It may only be a different boot lock as with the MY03 - MY04

Im stuck between this too mate, looking at the minute for cars between 5k and 7.5k. now Ive seen a nice S plater (well a few actually 1 owner/2 owner from new FSSH 80-100k miles) personally if the cars been looked after then theres no worries on high miles IMHO and you pick up a better deal. but noooo the misses dont like them numbers on the dash board and would rather pay 7.5k for a P reg with 60k miles... why? I dont fekking know. cause she knows nowt about cars apart from 90k miles is alot

Glad to see that I'm not the only one facing this dilemma!

So what does everyone else think? When you're looking for two similarly priced cars, what preference do you have - age or mileage?

Answers on a postcard to.. ;-)

Heeeeeeeelp, someone must have the definitive answer!

Cheers,

Mart.
