Who's Saving up for the RCM Upgrade (EVO Magazine)
Wow Just read EVO last night and it was great to see an unbiased opinion on the performance packages available for the new age scoobs. That Roger Clark Motorsport conversion was just insane. £15k is not that bad when you think about what you are getting 437bhp/390lb ft and a bullet proof engine.
Don't want to spoil it for anyone who hasn't read the article so I won't comment on who came out best against the PPP at a similar price.

I would say that £15k for that type of performance and reliability is fantastic. In the real world of tuning and not the usual stick on an exhaust lark you need to spend money or you'll just end up with a lump of metal for an engine when it all goes bang. This is an every day so has to be reliable.

I'm with conrad...
15k buys a lot more than 437bhp/390lb including engine dyno time, and installation.
but as they say, you pay your money and you take your choice..

Yes but remember with the type 25 you are getting all the lovely extras (well, a car to go around the engine to start with ) like DCCD-A, adjustable suspension, quickrack etc.
Also bear in mind the car is 'conservatively' tuned for 'everyday' use, and power can be upped significantly from the already startling figures.
I think you need to look at the figures again to define 'anywhere close'
I think what you've done to the car is fantastic, but 15k for the engine work is

Craig,
I would want more, without getting my hands dirty..
Watch our for a car to appear soon that the owner has done just that for significantly less..
I save money on little bits, but I paid for my engine to be built.. I was going to build it, but decided against it..
15k pays for a lot of parts and a lot of labour IMHO.. maybe its a tainted northern attitude that despises southern pricing? (havent got a clue where rcms!) but im sure they are very good for the money.

Anyone who spends £15k on engine mods has more money then sense IMHO.
They also spoke very well of TSL's 333 upgrade too.

chris.. how much power do they get?
this is around £34 per bhp..
could be considered cheap depending on how you look at it..
or assuming you start with say 220 bhp..
£69 per every extra 1bhp..
Expensive, hobby.
