question for the scooby experts
hi,
im in the process of taking a sti silver 4door v4 scooby as a px on my skyline.ive checked its history ,hpi etc but not much comes up.it has been put on a private plate.vin checks out as a subura impreza.should it come up as sti?wrx?.the thing thats puzzling me is it has headlight jet washers in bumper.i believed it was only uk cars that had these?am i wrong?
any help would be rally appricated-i am viewing at weekend

what should top speed be?
thanks for all the info.i checked out model number and its ok.it has a rear wiper!just need to find out why the front bumper has been replaced.maybe because it looks like a v5 bumper?

Should have a carbon fibre strut brace. Check the sun-blinds, if Jap import it's all in Japaneses. Apart from that as said earlier Red manifold, also check out http://www.sidc.co.uk/faq.htm#2.1
There's a plate near the suspension turrets, you find a code (hopefully) there that will correspond to the Jap Spec table.
My STI had GF8E5ED, which identified it as a 300 bhp 5-door.
Just one point, beware get the STI fully checked over especially regarding the main-bearings on the crank, wrong fuel, poor oil changes result in premature failure. Starts as a slight knock and will develop into a £2k-£3k repair bill.
My STi did this after 10 days of ownership! Waiting for the trader to come and pick it up this morning..

the model code matches up as to what is supposed to be.but did WATERSPRAY not come as standard on the sti.was it an option?if someone could answer this that would be great.ive got the lad on hold till i find out and thats my last question i promise!
