Question

Just a quickie does anyone else have this problem?
I think it is the fabric on the seats, as I only have to get in, wriggle a little and get out again and I get a belt up my arm.
Any cure? other than a naf little dangly earth wire?
Cheers
Ron

I suffer the same fate with many of my cars. The solution is simple - although not quite as easy on a scoob.

When exiting the car hold onto a metal part of car (usually door top works well - unlucky!). Keep grasp of this piece of metal until feet are firmly planted on the ground.

May look a little daft but beats a good belt!

Yep, same here - although the Scoob is a tad better then my last car. Isn't it supposed to happen more if you wear man-made fabrics? Damn - I'll have to stop wearing that brushed nylon now

Happens to me all the time, but not my husband - I'm obviously some sort of conductor.

Gonna try some of your suggestions tonight - apart from kissing the earth! Mind you, the way Scoobys fly, might be a good idea kissing the ground before and after driving!.

Touch or hold on to a metal body part as you get out. Mazdas used to have a specific bare metal "button" for this very purpose, can't find it in my wife's 626.

The naff dangly things are a waste of money and effort as the car is grounded to earth by the carbon black in the tyres anyway, so if you touch any conductive metal part, hey presto earthed. If you get out without and you are wearing non conductive shoes (eg trainers) you are powered up and when you get near metal zzzzzaaaaaaaaappppppp!

It won't happen if you drive in bare feet, but then you hurt your soles on the road instead! (eg Fred Flintstone, ha ha!)

Ahhhh - so holding on to a metal part whilst getting out does the trick ??
Getting out of my scoob I try to close the door by pushing the thin rubber bit between the window glass and the actual metal frame. Seems to work but you need a steady hand !
A bit like playing 'Operation' - one false move and you're zapped !!

ARE YOU SITTING COMFORTABLY THEN I SHALL BEGIN. WHEN YOU GET OUT OF THE CAR PUT YOUR RIGHT ARM OUT AT THE SAME TIME YOU MOVE YOUR LEG (BENT SO YOU DON'T LOOK STUPID) AND PUT IT ONTO THE OUTSIDE OF THE PILLER THAT YOUR SEATBELT COMES OUT OF. THEN PUSH YOURSELF OUT WITH YOUR ARM AS WELL AS TWISTING YOUR SELF OUT AS NORMAL.
WORKS EVERY TIME NO MATTER WHAT YOU ARE WEARING.
LET ME KNOW IF IT DOESN'T WORK AND WE WILL SEE WHAT YOU ARE DOING WRONG
PAUL!
