WR1 at Scooby Shootout???
Just wondering why all the WR1s havent signed up for the shootout? thought there was one down but not there at the moment.
Would be a good chance to show everyone what they can (or really cant) do!!!
Are you all afraid???

Or like i said are they all still scared it wont post a better time than a stock sti8?

If I had my car I might have brought it along but certainly wouldn't be doing a run in it until it was run in and loosened up a bit.
Kind regards

To be honest no, not thrash the nuts off it. IF in future I was to do a run with it I certainly wouldn't be dumping the clutch at 6000rpm or anything like that.
It would just be interesting to time it to see how quickly it accelerates in the real world.
and how much slower it is than one of my other cars

The problem is that something like this isn't 'the real world' All that will happen is that you'll sit in a queue waiting to run, the intake system will get seriously hot and the ECU will peg boost back until you get up into 4th gear.
Result; a really bad time!!

Thanks, point taken. Hadn't thought of that but should have. In any case I am having mine as my every day road car so far more interested in the day to day on road performance and driveabilty which I am sure will be fantastic.
Kind regards,
Robin
PS been some talk among WR1 owners on here of haveing a Scoobynet WR1 get together. Any chance it could be arranged at Prodrive seeing as that is where our cars were born?
Feel free to PM me or mail me offline if it may be possible, I am local to Banbury/Warwick and happy to organise.

We don't have a PPP for an STi8 (whatever that is), but we do for 02MY STi as well as 03/04MY STi
The performance package for these cars is designed to protect the engine at higher temps but you will find that some of the strategies employed on the WR1 are different to all but the very latest version of the STi PPP.
I could never condone anyone running at this sort of event as this would of course be in direct contravention of your warranty terms and conditions
The basics are that if you can be sure that the ECU is seeing water temp between 70 & 90 degrees and an intake temp between 10 and 30 degrees (40 only just takes the edge off it) then it will do what is says on the tin. As you may have guessed, these are the parameters that the engine will see in normal road use. Park it for a few minutes and the ECU will protect the engine.
