Question MY98 4x4 AWD? Ratio..

Was wondering if MY98 was an AWD or 4x4 and what the ratio if any is?. I know that you can get inteligent power shift through independant wheels etc. But when driving down the road in 3rd gear doing 30 ish. Is the car in still in 4x4 or AWD or does it just use rear or what? An ex Fiat Coupe driver brought it up. And I dont reaaly know the answer, I thought I'd ask the experts.

Thanks

Ted

I think that all scoobys are AWD - like any FWD or RWD car, its just that the front and rear wheels are connected. So all the wheels have power at the same time, if u see what i am saying.

The older generation of scoobs UK models have a a 60:40 power split to the front (60 to the front) and the new age UK scoobs have a 50:50 split. but i am not sure on the STi's with their DCCD (Driver Controled Center Differental).

AWD = All Wheel Drive as far as I'm aware.

depends on the model of scoobym#, sum have a dccd type box which is set at about 35 front 65 rear or sumthing simmiler, which is adjustable on the center console up to a 50/50 locked system

the other cars mostly have a 50/50 torque split viscous diff setup, or sumthing very simmiler
