P1 or 03 STI
#4
Tough one there - I've had both and still miss my P1 loads even now I've got my STi SpecC now. You'll appreciate the interior a lot more if your in the car for a while on the New Age, but there's something so right for me about the old shape externally (could just be me being a "grass is always greener" person typically).
At the end of the day you can't go wrong with either (so it's down to how much mileage is on them and possible maintenance costs when they come up - the New Age is only every 10K with a recommended 5K oil change), the P1 being 7500, or at last mine was so I'm guessing it's not changed to suit for some weird reason.
Best thing you can do as always is take a drive in both of them for a good few miles to get used to both on the sort of roads your likely to encounter every day and then see which one your more comfortable with at the end of the day

I've also had both ..... you'll find a big difference in the braking performance of the two .... the MY03 STI can stop on a sixpence.
Personally I much prefer the looks on the newage ..... paint quality is still crap though

This car has it for me in driving because you can easily switch between very relaxed (it pulls from 35mph in 6th) and then the next minute your screaming down the motorway (private strip rather) doing over a ton and it's more than happy to go and go, plus it doesn't wake the neighbours up and give me a headache after a long journey at high speed (but that also means I don't get a massive exhaust note either in town's - can't win)
But (and this may have just been at the time I had my P1 cos there were less cars like that on the road then), I've never had a woman throw herself on the bonnet and refuse to move till I gave her a lift somewhere in any other car since

I was a little bewildered at the time by it cos I was just coming back from getting money out of the hole in the wall, so didn't take it to heart - it wasn't like she was a 2 ton tess or anything so no damage was imminent
