HELP! can't remove rear speaker shelf
#1
Have followed the FAQ to the letter but still can't remove shelf - problem is with the rear window side panels. Have unpopped the front poppers both sides but is still no room to remove the shelf?? - is the idea to bend the shelf in the middle SO MUCH that both sides pull in to the middle or to just pull it toward you??
Sorry for putting in here as well as ICE but figure just in case some people miss the post....

Dominic,
it was real hassle on my MY99.
It's glued all along the rear edge. You need to pull it with a steady pressure, while bending in slightly. Assuming you've removed the C pillar trim (the bits at the back).
It felt like the whole shelf was going to disintegrate- you have to pull that hard!

You have to remove the pillar trims if you don`t want to damage the parcel shelf, these pop off quite easily they are held in place by two plastic stud & three or four metal clips, the parcel shelf is held by four plastic studs along the rear, there may also be some excess window bonding sticking the rear just run a stanley knife along it.
hope this helps
