AA damaged my car!!!
I had my car recovered to the main dealer last week.
The main dealer fixed what eventually turned out to be a faulty coolant temp sensor...well done Robinsons.
Anyway in transporting the car there, managed to wreck my Sti front spoiler and damage 3 of the wheels... one even has chunks out of it...
I`m fuming at the lack of care taken..
And just to top it all, I have to write to their complaints dept as they wont deal with matter over the phone....(NBO is less than 2 weeks away)
My scooby is my pride and joy and this is how I get treated...
Does anyone else have any light to shed on this???

I had the same happen to my Puma last year They front lifted my car and damaged the front bumper. Unfortunately you will probably have to pay for the repair then claim it back from them That's what they told me I just reported it to our insurance who never did anything about it.
How did they manage to do so much damage to yours? It must have been low loaded surely

If it was on a flatbed and taken across alot of bumpy roads...if the straps weren't tight or correctly fitted, the car will move (they can even bounce sideways ) and possibly the wheels may end up rubbing the wheels on the side of the load bed or guides.
Still, it shouldn't happen. Front spoilers are sometime unavoidable, if the suspension is lowered or a there is an aftermarket splitter fitted. But even that can be avoided by just putting bricks infront of the wheels as the car is put on the back of the flatbed - this raises the front by the needed few inches to clear the ramp.
Photograph the damage, use a standard camera as well as digital (incase they refuse digital images as "doctored"). You've wrote to them, so that's ok. But see if you can get through on the phone too.

a mate had a celica turbo 4x4 toewed by the AA a few years ago and they put it on a spec lift (lifting only the front two wheels) anyway they knackered the diifs/running gera of the car - he had it checked out by a dealer and they coughed up about £2500 within a month...

I had damage done to an alloy on mine, when AA took it home on a low-loader when lambda sensor fried.
I was lucky, had a very honest driver who phoned me and said that a buckle had made a scratch on a wheel. He said, he had already informed Complaints Dept and had put details through my letter box, with Claim No. as I didn't travel home with my car.
All I had to do was get a quote for price of new wheel, which they approved immediately, then send them the bill when I had bought the wheel. I then received a cheque reimbursing me, almost by return.

Many thanks for the replies,
I`ll post the pics of the damage in a bit,
Its running at about 6-700 quid at the mo!
I`m not spending it and claiming it, they will have to authorise work at the bodyshop...
Very annoying
Here are the pics

also, I know a guy who does wheel refurbishment. Let me know if you need them doing. Dai has a spare set of wheels I'm sure he would be happy to lend you while yours were being done.

Well, they have admitted the body damage and are sending an engineer to look at the wheels.
looks like I`ll get my car sorted for the NBO...fingers crossed.

I was told the AA have some cars on a "warning" list that require a special type of low loader to pick them up so that they dont rip body parts off. Apparently my car is one of them as its so low at the front (Leon Cupra R 225). A few people on seatcupra.net have had cars collected by AA/RAC and had to wait for the right low loader to turn up. Worth mentioning when your car is being collected by AA/RAC.....

This happened a few years ago, so things MAY have changed.....
A lad I work with used to work for the RAC. On one occasion he was sent out to collect a motorbike that had broken down. He was driving a 'front' lift type of truck, not a low loader or Hi-Ab. He picked the bike up as well as the driver who was sat in the rear of the cab. They set off, got to the first roundabout, my mate is doing a right, the bike decided to carry straight on . It was at that point where my mate suddenly realised the bike should have been tethered down .
The bike was a write-off, but apparently the rider was alright about it.
The RAC coughed up straight away accepting full responsibility.

Update:
Today an independant engineer came to look at my car whilst at my works.
So I`m hoping to find out early next week if the alloys get sorted too...
Still gonna be close to be getting it finished in time for the NBO though...
