WR1 Review in The Sun Today.
Anyone read it ?
I thought it was a short but good review which has given the WR1 the praise it needs.
Good to see someone saying how powerful and enjoyable to drive it is rather than people commenting on the understeer subject!

LOL, as if the WR1 is for Chavers,,, very unlikly at £30k
more like a nova with a bee in a tin.
Bet you don't have one ? Old Fart.................. sounds like the green eyed monster is out again.
I did not pay 30k to be a chaver,,,,,,,,, there's a exclusive group or
498 WR1's which are out there, 2 have been killed off.
Screw the understeer, pro drive strut and a little play with the struts sorts that out no end. Power power power,,,,,,, everytime it goes out she just wants to eat everything on the road,,,,, chomp chomp chomp........... even when parked up it's looking for it's next meal.......
Show me anyone that owns a WR1 that is nopt happy,,, there's none.
Only peeps that throw stones in glass houses bitch about things.
I'm over then moon with the car, happy customer number 97 :>)

Clive the brave... I have a 22B type UK, which cost me £40k, I also have a 996 C4S, which cost considerably more, and a Forester XT, a snip at £23k. So thats over £100k worth of cars sitting on my drive...green eyed monster? LOL
Chav-tastic in the sense that it's a flashy car that Chavs aspire to mate. I have owned a Catalunya, MY99PPP, MY01 WRX, MY03 STIPPP...I am completely immune to chav-worries regarding the car, but I do know that the Impreza has a chavtastic reputation these days, no matter how much you spend on it. I drive one because the 22B is a great car. I don't drive a WR1 because I choose not to...the MY03 STIPPP was a real dissapointment (which is why I kept the 22B and sold the STI), there is no way on earth I'd buy another new age Impreza without an extended test drive...perhaps once the WR1's come on the secondhand market I'll try one, but considering my dislike of the colour, and the fact I believe a JDM Spec C would suit me better, I somehow doubt I'll ever be inclined to drive one.

Old Fart, ok I'm put on the straight and narrow.
some nice cars, well 2 out of 3 an't bad.
What get's me is that people out in Scooby world just want to jump on the band wagon about the first oppertunity to bitch about anything and have an opinion about car's they have not tested and no idea about.
I could bitch about the CS4, but whats the point as I've never been out in one,,, but if you want to ask about the Turbo 2, GT2 & GT3 I could give feed back,,,,,, :>))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))) need I say anymore, I'm still drying my pants after wetting myself with joy......... Thanks Dick Lovett and Steph Vitti for the blasting time.
There's no BLING on me guy's, no thanks, but always willing to try out a chaver girl,,, they always look dirty and naughty girls, with everything skin tight :>) mmmm
njkmr............ looks like Davvvvvvvvvvvyyywaaaaaaaaaaavvvvy boy is chavering and looking for his next internal fix ...lol.... watch out there's a chaver about

I wear a wedding band, thats it (and it's a girls size as my fingers are soo small).
Didn't do cossies, couldn't afford them when I was 18, had a Triumph Spitfire mkIV, then a Nissan Micra. The micra started my love affair with coupes

Old Fart,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, I here that girlie ring is not the only female thing you like to show off that rubs close against your skin.
Watch out for the cheese wire thong and his wonder bra.
Opps almost let the pearl neckless slip...........

Clive, I hear (spelt h e a r, as in detect noise, as opposed to here, as in 'not there') you bleeting like a baby everytime someone voices an opinion other than WR1 is the greatest car ever. You strike me as a man with very little self confidence. Hope the WR1 manages to impress people enough that they don't care about the shallow, characterless guy behind the wheel...because he is sure to dissapoint.

Well just in case anyone missed the article, here it is.... and he does totally over do it IMHO
And see if you can spot all the mistakes etc.... Blue seats!!!! has he really been in one? makes you wonder
NOW this is what I call motoring insania.
Even the name is barking mad — the Subaru Impreza STi “WR1” Special Edition.
It sounds like a car that has been knighted for services to extreme motoring madness.
This is a machine that really brings out the devil in you.
Believe me, keeping your licence while driving the WR1 will be a real achievement.
There is absolutely nothing normal about this Subaru — as you can guess with one glance at its macho “You looking for trouble?” appearance.
From the bulging bonnet air cooler and gaping mesh grille all the way back to the jumbo jet-sized rear spoiler, this is one for motoring’s hardcore.
It’s as near as you can get to a rally car for the road and is based on Petter Solberg’s super 2003 World Rally Championship car.
It’s also the fastest and most powerful Impreza ever.
Rear view ... the powerful Impreza
with its jumbo jet-sized spoiler
It makes the standard STi model look almost pedestrian which, as anyone who has driven one will agree, is a frightening thought.
The WR1 has been modified by rally specialists Prodrive.
They have fine-tuned the 2-litre turbo-charged engine to squeeze the power up from 265bhp to 320bhp.
That means the WR1 is capable of hitting 60mph in an electrifying 4.25 seconds.
It will take you just another 6.42 seconds to reach 100mph.
The Subaru is also restricted to a top speed of 155mph.
To put that into perspective, it is on a par with a £160,000 Ferrari 575.
For a 2-litre engine that’s incredible performance.
Imprez-ive ... the rally inspired STi WR1
But it is the way the WR1 handles that makes the Subaru an even more amazing machine.
It’s got rally car technological wizardry to keep you on the road at just about any speed.
Gadgets include a driver’s switch for the control centre-differential (DCCD to you and me).
This allows you to choose between a sharper cornering turn-in or more stable straight- line driving.
I was too busy hanging on to the steering wheel so I’m not sure if I ever used the switch!
To complete the job, the Impreza gets up-rated springs with a 25mm lower ride height.
That makes it look even meaner, along with its 18-inch low-profile sports tyres and Brembo high performance brakes.
The rallying theme continues on the inside with blue suede-effect sports seats, drilled metal pedals and splashes of bare aluminium trim.
And just to make sure you know the WR1 is extra special, it gets its own ice blue metallic paint, which together with the fact that only 500 will be sold in the UK makes it a potential collectors’ item. That is why you end up paying £29,995 — steep for a Subaru — although it seems a rather modest cost for a four-seater machine with supercar performance and handling.

Dunno mate! Just had our third kid, I can see it all pouring down the drain now!
Plus last I heard you were on the fast path to glory! You and that Petersen bloke (with 2 porker badges on the drive) are dark horses!
